Engineering Easy Solutions to Your Most Complex Electronics and Software Problems

Product Deveopment & Engineering
Flexibility is one of Cyber Group's major strengths. We can work on a whole range of devices spanning many industries (manufacturing, public safety, consumer electronics, transportation and energy , etc). We can also adapt to multiple applications, including:
The fact that we've worked with so many industries and applications means we have a greater knowledge and appreciation of the unique aspects of those industries. But when it comes to our actual electronics product engineering, it all boils down the same basic fact:
As long as we can assemble an engineering team with the right expertise and experience (and we can), we can deliver.
All electronic products have something in common: they have hardware and software components. We can do both or either, and we specialize in providing advanced control systems engineering.
As part of our Value Engineering Process, we perform a thorough "functional partitioning." We analyze all the requirements – not just the end-user’s requirement for the whole product, but the requirements for each individual piece of the electronics product. We establish how each piece connects to the others, and with those building blocks we can architect the whole system for optimum design.
Considerations that we think through:
- Budget for design and development, and production cost for the end product. This budget includes more than just dollars – it’s also about understanding schedules and resources.
- What functions and sub-functions are required of the device?
- Can those sub-functions be implemented through software?
- If so, that's the route we choose. Software is more cost-effective, and the product's physical considerations have less impact.
- For the software components, what tasks are required?
- How can the software tasks be distributed among programmers for maximum efficiency?
- Which tasks are highest priority?
- What programming language do we use?
- For the hardware components, how many will be required?
- What's the needed or desired size of the product? What kind of space, volume and weight limitations must the hardware components fit?
- How much power does the product require? How will the device address the excess power (heat)?
- What kind of shape or form factor is needed or desired for the product? All of the hardware and software functionality must be hidden inside a particular "package."
- How will we test the product to ensure it meets all the requirements and functions as intended?
With that information, we can engineer a solution. We start with our core competencies in product development & engineering:
- Mathematical analysis, modeling, simulation & algorithm development
- Logic designs (FPGA, PLD, HDL)
- Systems engineering and integration
- Process and global project management
- Software and electronics expertise
- Design of products and systems
- Interactive graphical interfaces
- Error reporting/alarming
- Logging and wired/wireless communications
- Data collection, analysis & alarming
- Network implementations
- 3-D design
We then build on that core with our expert software & hardware engineering skills and a thorough understanding of control systems functions.
- Motion physics and control
- Sensor interfacing/integration
- Closed-loop control
- PID Algorithms
- Electromechanical integration
- Energy application with feedback control
- Fluid management
- Optical design
And finally we integrate expertise in the actual construction of the electronic product.
- Electronics PCB Schematic Design
- Multi-layer PCB Schematics capture, parts placement, layout and Gerber files for manufacturing
- PCB manufacturing engineering support
- Board Package Support (BPS) and RTOS Integration
- Processors (RISC, DSP, 8-15-32 bit, PIC)
- Communications
